      Event Sender Workflow Agent: "Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected."

      Problem:

      Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as
      expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action RegisterSetup,
      location:...\, command: cmd /c RegAscCM.exe /f Ko...

      It's possible that during the installation of the Event Sender Workflow Agent, the user may not have access to specific Registry Hives and Keys, which can be detected by observing ACCESS DENIED outcomes in a Process Monitor trace.

      Solution

      To resolve this issue, follow one of the two options listed below:

      • Option 1
        1. Grant the user full permissions to those Registry Hives and Keys.
        2. Double-click on the KofaxCaptureEventSender.msi file.
      • Option 2:
        1. Launch a Command Prompt as an administrator.
        2. Run the following command to install the  KofaxCaptureEventSender.msi  now with admin privileges:
