Unable to select a valid source. Device is already reserved.

Problem:

The user is trying to open a batch in Quality Control and got the following error message.

Problems can also occur when trying to open an existing batch or after saving a newly created batch.

Resolve:

The File Import sources need to be recreated, even though the Scanner Configuration Utility displays that the Software Import source is already created.

To create the new File Import sources on the KC workstation, open the Run window and enter the following to create the scan sources:

appinit /createsources
