Issue:
Users get the following error, and the license utility's Activate button is grayed out.
Solution:
Check the following registry key:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Kofax Image Products\Ascent Capture Service\Licensing\Licensing Service
Modify the "Enabled" Key to a value of "1"
Restart the Kofax Capture Service and check if you can view your licensing now.
If the above steps do not work, try the steps below:
Ensure that the Windows Services (services.msc) is closed, and then refresh the license service by disabling and then re-enabling it.
To disable the service, run the following command at the Run command prompt:
aclicsrvcfg.exe /d
To enable the service, run the following command at the Run command prompt:
aclicsrvcfg.exe
Could you verify that the Capture service is started, and then check to see if the menu is enabled?
