Could not start unattended mode because VRS could not be properly configured

Problem:

When enabling "Unattended Mode" In Kofax capture Scan the error "Could not start unattended mode because VRS could not be properly configured" occurs. Solution:

1. Confirm you have followed all pre-requisites from Kofax's Help Guide
2. If above doesn't resolve your issues try the steps below:
3. The login user does not have permission to create a necessary file in C:\Windows folder for the communication between KC and VRS.Please follow the steps below to see if the issue is resolved:
   1. Close all KC modules
   2. Temporarily grant the Read/Write access on C:\Windows to the login user (DomainName\LoggedInUser)
   3. Launch the Scan module, observe that the file "C:\Windows\Default traps.cts" is created
   4. Close the Scan module
   5. Revoke the Read/Write access on C:\Windows from the login user
   6. Grant the Read/Write access on the file "C:\Windows\Default traps.cts" (which is newly created at the step #3) to the login user
