Error contacting the license server. The license grace period will allow scanning to continue for up to 72 more hours.

Problem:


The customer is using VRS installed as a VRS client/server setup. They are receiving the following error notification on workstations.

Resolve:


Open license utility on the problematic workstations to confirm if your licensing is good.


Default location is C:\program files(x86)\kofax\application\KSAlicenseutility.exe

If you are unable to get licensing confirm that the VRS server has valid licensing.

If you are unsure about VRS server location. You can find that information in the kofaxReg.xml.


Default location is C:\ProgramData\Kofax\Vrs


Search for "Serverand one of the values should provide you with your VRS Server location.

 

Check the license utility on the server to see if the issue is occurring on the server.


If it is not happening on the server, confirm that port 3581 is not being blocked on the client and if error is occurring on the server, confirm that port 3581 is not being blocked on the VRS server.

If the ports are good. Check services.msc on the VRS server to see if there is a Kofax or VRS service. If so, go ahead and try restarting that service to see if that would resolve the issue.
