How to create searchable PDF with Kofax Capture?

It is possible for Kofax Capture to create a PDF file which contains a text layer which is searchable using Adobe Reader/Acrobat.  Please see following information:

First, you need PDF+text volume as part of your Kofax licensing.  Launch the Kofax License Utility to check this.  Please contact our sales team at sales@genusllc.com if you are needing this added to your current Kofax licensing.  Continue with below steps if you have the correct licensing.

1. Launch Kofax Capture Administration program.

2. Right click batch class and select Properties.

3. Select Queue tab and add "PDF Generator".  (This is typically added right before the Export queue).  See below screen shot:

4. Right click document class, select Properties, and then select PDF tab.

5. On PDF tab, select "Enable Kofax PDF generation" and "Kofax PDF Text Under Image".  See below screen shot:

6. The export script needs to support the output of PDF files.  To check this, right click on document class again, select "Export Connectors", and then select "Setup" button.

7. Most export scripts have a Document Storage tab.  On this tab, select "Export Kofax PDF files".
An export directory may also be needed for this.  See below screen shot example:

8. If export script does not have the option to export PDF files, you could also add the text export and have this only output PDF files.
