KIC stopped working – storage bin full

KIC is no longer working. There are no indications of errors in the log file.


Check for Error:


Launch Kofax Message Connector Monitor found in the Start Menu.


Check the state and description of the ‘Storage’ component


Error:


disk full


Cause:


Message Connector is configured to ‘Keep Failed’ messages and the messages have not been manually deleted.


(for configuration of ‘Keep Failed’ go to Message Connector Configuration (found in the Start Menu) General Section)


Failed inbound messages are those not imported into Kofax Capture and also NOT forwarded to an operator1. If selected, failed inbound messages are kept pending. These pending messages have to be handled and deleted manually; otherwise the storage will eventually run out of disk space.


Short Term Resolve:


Go to the Message Connector Monitor (found in the Start Menu) and delete messages that are no longer needed


Long Term Resolve:


Schedule regular cleanup of failed messages


or


Increase the size of the storage.bin file and schedule regular cleanups of failed messages


or


Configure archiving for failed message in the Destination, which is considered being forwarded to an operator 1, and handle those failed messages archived in a folder separate from the storage.bin folder through a different process.
