      Kofax Capture Fix Pack/Service Pack Install


      1. Review the 'Readme' file before installing for additional information on extra steps that may need to be taken to resolve some issues.
      2. Installer must be local admin and must have privileges to make changes and additions to the database if the database is not built-in Kofax database or is not using SQL Authentication. Run dbutil.exe on the server to determine database installed.
      3. Install on the server first
      4. Open Batch Manager > About and note version of install
      5. Install on workstations next
      6. Open Batch Manager > About on workstations and make sure version is the same as the server

      NOTES:


      Kofax recommends that all machines be at the same level of software and sometimes this is required for the software to work correctly as there may be changes to the database


      If Kofax was originally installed using the /noVRS switch - it is not necessary to use that switch for fix pack and/or service pack installs


      Error logs will generally contain a notation as to the successful installation of the fix pack or service pack.
