Scanner make and model mismatch after connecting to a new scanner. (Local Scanner Profiles)

Issue:

After changing the scanner’s make and model to a new one and installing a new MDL file on a workstation, the existing scanner profiles stored in the local scanner profile location, which were previously connected to the old scanner, now display an issue due to a mismatch in the scanner's make and model.

 

Resolution:

The resolution for this issue is to reset and recreate the scanner profiles.

  1. Access to the Kofax VRS Administration Console > Scanner Configuration > Find the Scanner's make > Configure Sources > Delete the Scanner Profile with the Issue

  2. Navigate to the location: C:\ProgramData\Kofax\Capture\Local\ScannerProfiles

  3. Back up the Scanner Profile with the Issue, like changing the name of the folder to <Scanner Profile Name>_Backup

  4. Go back to the Kofax VRS Administration Console > Scanner Configuration> Find the Scanner's make > Configure Sources > Create Standard Sources

After completing those steps, please resave the profiles. The error message should no longer appear afterward.
