      VRS licensing types

      OEM


      These is a VRS license which comes with the scanner for no additional cost. 
      You must install the VRS software which is provided by the scanner manufacture for this licensing to work.


      Workstation


      This is a VRS license which is purchased and specific to the Kofax scanning workstation (cannot be shared with other workstations).  Customer should have a screen shot of the workstation VRS license in case license needs to be moved to another workstation.


      Kofax License server


      This is a VRS license which is purchased and resides on the Kofax license server.  This license is tied to the Kofax serial number and can be used by multiple Kofax scanning workstations.  Workstation must be able to connect to Kofax licensing server for this to function.  This uses a concurrent licensing model - for example if customer has three VRS licenses they can run three Kofax scanning workstations using VRS at the same time.


      NOTE:  The Kofax license server is installed as part of Kofax Capture.


      VRS License Server


      This is a VRS license which is purchased and resides on the VRS license server.  This license is tied to the VRS serial number and can be used by multiple VRS scanning workstations.  Workstation must be able to connect to VRS licensing server for this to function.  Again, this uses a concurrent licensing model. 

      NOTE:  VRS license server can be used when using VRS with other scanning software.  This is not used with Kofax Capture.


      VRS is purchased and licensed by scanner page count volume.  Below are the VRS licensing options:

      • VRS Elite Desktop
      • VRS Elite Workgroup
      • VRS Elite Production
