What takes up a Kofax concurrent/full station license for Kofax Capture and Kofax Transformation Modules:
You can review available licenses by opening: KSALicenseUtility.exe - License Utility lists the number of licenses available for the applicable station license type. It reflects the maximum number of station licenses minus the number of station licenses currently in use.
Concurrent license = Full station license = Workstation License
Remote full station license = Connections that can only be assigned to remote sites (Requires corresponding ACIS remote site licenses).
The following will take a concurrent license:
- Each remote site that is assigned a license will remove a license from the license pool.
Each of the following Kofax Capture modules will take up one license per machine that it is running on.
- Validation Module
- Verification Module
- PDF Generator
- Recognition Server
- Export
- Quality Control(QC)
- Modules running as a service
NOTE: If you run more than one specific service on the same server, you will only take up one concurrent license. However, if you run more than one of the same modules as a service on different servers, each server running the service will take up one concurrent license each.
- For example: Running 2 export services on the same server will only take up one concurrent license but if you run 1 export service on 2 different servers, that will take up 2 concurrent licenses.
- Kofax PDF Generator
- OCR Full Text
- Recognition Server
- Export
- Kofax Import Connector
The following will not use a concurrent license:
- KTM validation (However, if you enable batch editing, this will take up a license)
- Administration Module
- License Utility
- Batch Manager
- Remote Synchronization Agent (RSA)
- Kofax Transformation - Server
- Knowledge Base Learning Server
- KTM Document Review
NOTE: The following article applies to Kofax Capture 11.0 and later versions
